Tuesday August 25 - District Governor Visit

Tuesday we were honored by the presence of our District Governor, Gil Trujillo and his wife Pat. Also in attendance was our Assistance Governor Steve Skinner, who introduced Governor Gil. Gil Trujillo serves as the 94th Governor of Utah Rotary District 5420

Governor Gil spoke on the importance of Rotary objectives and encouraged all members to be involved in the many areas of service provided by Rotary including: Youth services, Polio Plus, literacy, and clean water.

He also made note of our Club of the Year designation in 2006 - 2007 and encouraged us to continue to work toward garnering that distinction again.

It's quite obvious that our District Governor is committed to the Rotary cause and is very excited to see our club succeed in our projects locally and worldwide. He also spent time with the Club leadership reviewing our goals and commitment to the objects of Rotary.

Pat shared a presentation by our International President John Kenny, and then encouraged all members to attend the District Conference that will be held May 13 - 15 2010 in St George. She presented Sgt at Arms Ken Kennedy with an apron to wear at Club meetings reminding everyone of the District Conference. You can find more information about District Conference at http://www.utahrotaryconference.blogspot.com/.

Banners were also exchanged with Governor Gill presenting the Club with an international Banner and President Barber presenting a Brigham Club Banner in return.

It is always a pleasure to host the District Governor and this year was no different. Thanks Governor Gil Trujillo for your service and for your message to our club!
