Rotarians and Daughters day! We had a good turnout of club members and daughters.
Sergeant at Arms Dave Lewis provided all daughters the opportunity to answer questions about Flag Day and Women's Suffrage to help their Rotarian parent to avoid Foundation Fines. The daughters did a fine job!
Our program consisted of the cast from "SNOOPY, The Musical" currently playing at the Heritage Community Theatre.
Everyone enjoyed a half hour of music and scenes from the play.
Apresentation was also made to President Ann Henderson and Club Member Steve Vincent for their hard worrk and perserverance in getting everything handled for our project in Minsk, Belarus. A total of nearly $15,000 in furniture, appliances and equipment was donated to an orphanage in Minsk through a partnership with the Minsk Club.
Facilitating the project were Rotarian Jerry Capener and his wife Sue Ann, who served an 18 month humanitarian mission in Minsk. They provided the supervision and direction in Minsk as the project began and unfolded.
Because of their help, and the fine work of Rotarians on both sides, we were able to pull this project off in record time, in spite of the difficulties and bureaucracy encountered in Belarus.
Great job Jerry, Sue Ann, Ann and Steve!
See you next week as we hear from John Gardner, Media Manager for Miller Sports Park - arranged by Rotarian Richard Scott.
